Job Summary

We are looking for a Testing Engineer with experience in testing and quality inspection of HV, MV and LV electrical switchgear products. The candidate will be responsible for conducting routine and functional tests, verifying product performance against approved specifications and standards, maintaining test records, and supporting quality assurance during manufacturing and final inspection.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and functional testing of HV/MV/LV switchgear and electrical panels.

• Conduct routine tests and inspections as per approved test procedures, drawings, specifications and standards.

• Perform tests on products such as:

• HT/LT switchboards

• MV/LV switchgear

• Distribution panels

• MCC/PCC panels

• VCB panels

• Control and relay panels

• Busbar systems

• Protection and metering panels

• Carry out electrical tests including:

• Insulation Resistance (IR) test

• High Voltage / Dielectric Withstand test

• Contact Resistance test

• Earth Continuity test

• Functional and interlock testing

• Relay and protection testing

• CT/PT testing, where applicable

• Circuit breaker operation and timing tests

• Control circuit and wiring verification

• Verify wiring, components, ratings, nameplates, busbar arrangements and terminal connections against approved drawings.

• Identify, record and report testing failures, defects and non-conformities.

• Coordinate with the Production, Design, Quality and Engineering teams to resolve testing-related issues.

• Prepare and maintain test reports, inspection reports and quality documentation.

• Ensure testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.

• Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) with customers or third-party inspectors when required.

• Follow all applicable electrical safety procedures during testing activities.

• Assist in troubleshooting electrical and control circuit issues.

• Ensure products comply with applicable IEC/IS standards and customer specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in switchgear, electrical panel or power equipment manufacturing/testing.

• Good knowledge of HV/MV/LV switchgear and electrical protection systems.

• Familiarity with electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams and control schematics.

• Knowledge of electrical testing instruments such as megger, micro-ohmmeter, HV test equipment, multimeter and relay test kits.

• Understanding of IEC/IS standards related to electrical switchgear and panels.

• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Ability to prepare technical test reports and maintain quality documentation.

Preferred Experience

Experience with manufacturers of HT/LT switchgear, VCB panels, MCC/PCC panels, RMUs, protection panels, busducts or distribution boards will be an advantage.

Pay: KD200.000 - KD250.000 per month
